Dear Piedmont Families,
As you likely heard, last night Governor Carney declared that all non-essential business and activities in Delaware shut down until May 15, or until the coronavirus COVID-19 threat is eliminated.
As a league, we must abide by these rules, but it is our sincere hope that our season will start once the shut down is lifted and we can begin practicing and playing shortly after May 15, 2020. The Board of Directors has already begun discussing various scenarios for different start times of the season so that we can get the kids on the fields to have some fun as soon as possible. We understand that coaches will likely not have many practices prior to starting games, but are hopeful that the season will still be meaningful for everyone.
As this remains an evolving situation, it goes without saying that we will update you when we receive new information and decisions are made.
We truly appreciate your continued cooperation during this difficult time and hope you understand that our decisions are for the health and safety of our players, coaches and families. Please stay safe and healthy.
The Piedmont Board of Directors
